Review - The Gunman

Well, if you wish to see Sean Penn in his best shape, then this is the right movie. Sean plays as James Terry, who works in congo in the early 2000 as a security task force for the foreigner in Congo.

James has a girlfriend named Annie, played by Jasmine Trinca, an italian actress. A dedicated doctor for the humanitarian rights. Annie, only knows that James works only keeping airports safety, she doesn't know that James is also a mercenary.

Both James and Annie really love each other, until a special task requires James to out of the continent. So, he went without any prior notice to Annie. This is where the conflicts begin.

James liaison, Felix Marti, played by Javier  Bardem, fall in love with Annie. Just like King David when he asks one of his commander to the war field, so he could seduce his wife. Same story different casts. Annie finally marries Felix and move to Barcelona.

8 years later, while James works in the NGO, 3 mercenaries were sent to kill him. Helped by his friend, Stanley, he finally found out who wish to wipe him out.

This movie is such an underrated for Sean Penn's proven skills, the storyline is too obvious and he's too old to be shown like this. This movie is based on a book, I haven't read the book yet, but the story is a typical mercenaries stories. Not so much surprises, and Sean's beautiful body somehow doesn't helped much in enjoying the movie.

I give this movie 3/5 stars!

Review - The Imitation Game

Maybe this is the first time, I really watch Benedict Cumberbatch in a serious mode. I've seen him in the series of Sherlock Holmes but not really watch him. He. played as Alan Turing in this movie, a genius in Math and trying to stop the World War II.

The world war II was started by the German led by Hitler, the allies, including England in this matter is trying so hard to break the code that was sent by their home based. The code of the bombing, the attack was sent every morning, and they have exactly 8 hours to decoded it, because tomorrow the code will change again.

With a group of smart people, Alan Turing tries to decoded the machine which is called enigma. He and a group of 4, and at the very end Keira Knightley as Joan Clarke enter the group. As a brilliant girl, and like any other smart people they tend to click.

The team tries decoding the machine by reading the words and find the right key to decoded it, Alan Turing, he create a machine to decoded it. So, in the future, they can remove all the of the trouble of decoding it. Any kind of codes can be decoded with this machine. I really don't get how that machine works, but I finally found out at the end that the machine he creates is the origin of computer.

Alan Turing is a weird kind of person, he grows up in pain. No friends, get bullied and end up of having one friend. I take the quotes at the pictures above as a reminder to ourselves, sometimes we tend to forget to never judge a book by its cover. If not because of Alan Turing, the lives of millions of people in Europe will be vanished. Tragically, society only see the homosexual thing he had, its such a pity.

Alan Touring teach us to show the uniqueness of ourselves and always believe in ourselves. To find someone that believes in you is like winning a prize, a treasure worth seeking. Mr. Cumberbatch really shows his talent in this movie, a beautiful movie made. I like it!

I give this movie 3,8/5 stars!

Review - Kingsman The Secret Service

Well, thus I'm kind of late in watching this movie since it was released in February 2015, I must say that this movie is worth the wait. Starred by Colin Firth as Harry, Taron Egerton as Eggsy, and Samuel L. Jackson as Richmond Valentine.

It started with Eggsy who was a drop out students, a punk who lives with his mother and his crook boyfriend named Dean. Eggsy has a necklace that was belong to his father, with a number on the back and told to call the number everytime he has troubles. Off course as a punk, trouble is a just around the corner. He was sent to the police station, and finally sent out after his call. Confusing with the release, Harry came and explained a little bit about Kingsman and asked him to join in.

Let me explain about Kingsman, its a private services that's filled with spies and known for its lack of interferences from outside sectors like the government. I wont spill you all the details, since it will ruin the excitement. Anyway, there's a vacant position at Kingsman and all the kingsman is urge to submit their candidates. These candidates will be trained and tested, and only one who will be taken as a Kingsman.

With various kinds of test, Eggsy and Roxy was the last best two candidates. Which made them and Merlin, the trainer, have to save the world from Richmond Valentine. Who is Mr. Valentine? Well, he's a crazy rich man who believes that the world need to be cleaned out from human. So, he started doing it by creating a technology that made human become so aggressive and started killing each other. Helped by his killer assistant, made him a powerful monster.

The movie is full of twisted stories and full of surprises. It's so entertaining, full of creativity and excitement. This is one of the best movie in this opening year. A collaboration of British and American, and we can see why the British is so proud with their tradition, and American looks so lame with the trials of so-fun people. In this case, I prefer the British, love their complexity, thus it looks so old fashioned but the elegance and depth of the culture is quite intriguing for me.

For a great and fun entertainment, great and beautiful actors I gave this movie 4/5 stars!

Review - The Other Woman

A simple romantic comedy movie, a good choice to relax your evening. I think we're all already know the summary from the title. Yup, its about cheating and the mistresses.

Cameron Diaz as Carly finally know that her boyfriend is cheating on her, and also a married man. He, Mark King played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, is married to Kate played by Leslie Mann. They both finally decided to take revenge on Mark, by not having sex with him. Funny thing is, Mark keeps going on weekend although he had not have sex with them. Well..well..Mark is a man of need, and of course he had the third one named Amber (Kate Upton).

They both join forces to find Amber, just to know that Amber..welll..Amber is every woman's worst enemy. Perfect body, beautiful blonde hair, she got everything every woman dream of. What is weird is, they all become friends. Now, this is very unusual. Its just to perfect to be true, but then again its all in the movie.

The trio of these beautiful woman play their revenge towards Mark. This is the time when we woman says, don't mess with us or you'll be sorry you were born. In the end find, Mark got his revenge, they sent him to bankruptcy. The three of them remain best friends, which almost impossible in real life in my opinion.

The movie is still entertaining, I like Cameron Diaz here rather than in sex tape, her looks is better here. If you need a simple, and entertaining movie, then this could be an option. I give this movie 3/5 stars!
