If you're looking a sweet, romantic kind of movie, this could be the perfect one. Starred by James Marsden as Dawson Cole and Michelle Monaghan as Amanda.
A love story of a lifetime, if I may say. That kind of love where you could not diminish, it just there. It's a sweet, strong and incredibly amazing.
The story is started where Dawson met Amanda in high school, and as we could all expected that they become a couple. A handsome young man with a beautiful young woman met, fell in love and become a couple. Like any other kind of romantic movie, the parents of the girl didn't approve the relationship because he came from different level of family.
Dawson Cole was raised in a broken family, his father was a drug dealer and led all of his sons to become his assistants. He doesn't care about education, in fact he like to abuse his sons. He leaved a lot of scars in Dawson's body and definitely in his soul. Dawson finally runs from his family and live with an old man named Tuck. A wise man that take him and educate him to become the best of him.
Something happen along the way, Dawson was jailed and this led him shut everything about Amanda. When a man chose her man, she will do almost anything to cope with the man. I guess that's the real definition of love, coping and accepting our loved ones no matter what. Amanda visits him almost every day in a month, and then every weekend for a year. But, Dawson never want to accept her visits. The action led to their separation.
20 years later, Tuck died and they were called to the same old town to receive their inheritance. The meetings lit the old flames, and they finally realized that they still love each other. The problem is, Amanda is married to another man and has children from him.
The best of me was taken in a beautiful city, I love the scenery showed. Adapted from Nicholas Sparks book with the same title, well, all I could say that the story is his typical style. From this movie you will learn that there are people that push you forward and made the best version of you. They will walk besides your thick and thin, and never let your hand go. The precious ones. The ones that still give us reasons to live.
Not a very happy ending, but this is quite entertaining, though I'm not really fond of with the female actresses, but it's not bad. So, I give this movie 3/5 stars! Enjoy!
XOXO
