Review - Noah

After weeks not writing in this blog, I finally had a time to fill it in with this grand movie that you all might had know it before. The movie is Noah, a simple title from the prophet Noah. Whether you're a moslem or christian, I believe you know all about the prophet.
Not far from the story told in the bible, this movie told about faith and problem occur between human and the creator. The story started how human was thrown away from eden and live on earth. After they were thrown away to the earth, some of the angels that fell sorry for the human follow them to the earth. The angels was punished by the creator and made them into stones.
Noah is just an ordinary man, who had a family with three sons, Sam, Ham and Jafet. His wife, was a faithful wife and follow him everywhere. One day, he had a dream, a premonition told by the creator, that one day the earth will be filled with water. So, he and his family started to build a ship, helped by the fallen angels.
Russel Crowe as Noah is no doubt, played his role in a remarkable way. As a viewer, sometimes I feel sorry for him, sometimes I get angry since he always follow the "right" way, he is the best actor for this movie. Jennifer Connelly played as Noah's wife, something bother me in watching her appearance, it seems she never gets old no matter how many years she spent in poverty and troublesome :). I think she had botox while playing the movie :). The other actors that plays quite a role in this movie is Emma Watson as Lia. A girl who was found injured, on the way Noah's family heads to the land of the fallen angels.

Could you imagine someone is building an ark? It takes so many years for building one, the scene was great. The ark doesn't look perfect or grand, it's just an ark made of woods, looks like a long cube. Darren aronofsky as the director, show this very well. There is nothing grand in this movie. It shows humbleness, Noah is not trying to show everybody his creation, he just create. Signs of faithfulness of his creator. He talks and ask the creator in any kinds of action he was trying to do. Compare to me, I'm nothing more than a dust of faithfulness.

The movie climax is when Lia is trying to deliver her baby, while Noah tries to kill it. It's like a great dilemma. We could feel how painful it is for Lia while carrying the baby and knows it well end up dead, since she has defies the rules from the creator. In the other hand, Noah's wife sees its just a way to carry their descendants, since all human being in the world is vanished. So, what happen? What about the other two children Noah had? They all have their own stories.

Its a great movie, best special effect, and great stories. It brings you new perspective about how the world runs. There's no overdoing during the whole movie, it's just a simple story about human faith to his creator. Why the creator decide to vanish all of his creations? I guess we could see the hints in this movie. But, will it ever happen again? The creator has promised that this will never happen again, and hopefully never happen again.

The movie ended with Noahs guilt, and how he got drunk and finally get naked in the sea. A remorse of a human being in how he could not complete his task. One of the best movie this year, I give it 4,5/5 stars!
